English Language Page On November 17-20, 2005, the annual International Helsinki Federation General Assembly
Meeting had taken place in Budapest, Hungary.
Representatives of 29 national committees, country-members of IHF along with representatives from OSCE, different foundations, and special guests from human rights organizations of the former Soviet Union Central Asia countries had taken place in the Assembly.
MHG was represented by Ludmilla Alexeeva, Chair, and Anastasia Aseyeva, Administrative Director.
Traditionally Assembly is the opportunity to discuss and approve the IHF Strategic Plan and Plan of Action for the forthcoming year, special amendments to the statute documents are considered, other events concerning IHF’s performance are assumed.
IHF also acknowledge the most distinguished person for his/her input to the mutual goal by presenting the Annual Recognition Award, which in this year was presented to Evgeni Zhovtis. Evgeni Zhovtis has founded the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and rule of Law. Along with these activities, representatives of all national committees had given the evaluation of the most vibrant evens in their countries, and the official position had been worked out.
