Strana.Ru On September 17 the Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic considered the application filed by the presidential candidate Shamil Buraev who, referring to a number of violations asked to cancel Akhmat Kadyrov’s registration as a candidate for presidency. The rationale presented by Buraev to prove that the meeting between Kadyrov and President Putin had been election propaganda and the administrative resource use, was turned down by the court as unjustified. The meeting discussed the issue of compensations payments to those who had lost shelter as a result of combat activities, and was shown on TV. According the court ruling, complaints against the government of Chechnya to the effect that it had been holding its meetings in various districts of the republic to agitate local leaders in favor of Kadyrov, were unsubstantiated either.
